Capturing Mountaineer Excitement ...
WVU Football Videos

Pictures are nice, but WVU football videos more often capture the true excitement of Mountaineer football.

The Mountaineer football videos I've linked to below, whether professionally edited or 'homemade', all capture the excitement and spirit of
West Virginia football.

Websites such as YouTube, MySpaceTV, FanDome and others are great sites for hosting these clips, and I've collected some of my favorites here.

(Disclaimer: These are not my videos.
I do not own or take credit for making any of these. I give production credit for each WVU football video according to the source provided.)

  • The 2005 WVU Football Recruiting Video
The video review of the West Virginia Mountaineers 2004 football season. Not really as good as many of the other WVU football videos, but certainly worth a look.

  • The 1975 WVU Pitt Game Highlight Video
Narrated by the late Jack Fleming, here you'll watch Bill McKenzie boot what is probably the biggest 38-yard field goal in Mountaineer history. Old-school at its best.

  • The 2008 Fiesta Bowl - Game & Review
Here you'll see the 'official' review of the big game, done in the style of the year-end recruiting videos. And if you've got the time, you can watch the entire Fox broadcast of the game on this page.

  • "25 Years of Mountaineer Field"
Produced by MSN before the 2004 season, this video features the best highlights from the first 25 years of football at Mountaineer Field.

  • "Four Plays to Greatness"
As the first quarterback in college football to start and win four bowl games, you'll see four of Pat White's best plays that made each of those wins possible.

  • The Owen Schmitt Story
Produced by the Mountaineer Sports Network, these two videos celebrate the West Virginia football career of fullback Owen Schmitt.

  • WVU 17 Miami 14 (1993)
The largest crowd in Mountaineer Field history was on hand to enjoy the win over the Hurricanes. Jack Fleming narrates this video of the highlights from the 1993 classic.

  • WVU 17 Penn State 14 (1984)
The first primetime, night game at Mountaineer Field. Catch these video clips of the game-winning score and the game's final moments. 'And bedlam breaks loose in Morgantown!'

  • WVU 28 Virginia Tech 7 (2003)
A fan video of the win over then #4 Va. Tech. Goes a long way to capture the spirit of that night, a 'special time in a special place'.
