Jack Fleming
Forever the 'Voice of the Mountaineers'

Posted on YouTube,
"It Resounds Still"
is Mountaineer fan WVUWeaponX's video
tribute to the late
Jack Fleming.

Fleming was, and will
forever be, the one true 'Voice of the Mountaineers'.

  This video is a tribute
to the legend- gone, but never to be forgotten.

Long before the creation of ESPN,
WVU football games were rarely on TV.

The radio was where we followed the action of games, and no one could
call a game and bring the action to life like Jack Fleming (shown here with his long-time color commentary partner, Woody O'Hara).

"The hills resound with sounds of Mountaineer football and the West Virginia University Mountaineers
are on the air!"

For the better part of 50 years, Jack Fleming brought the Mountaineers to life through the airwaves and across the radio dial. A native of Morgantown and a WVU graduate, Fleming will always be a part of West Virginia lore. A push was made recently to name the Mountaineer Field pressbox in his honor, and I like the idea...

Yeah, I like the sound of that...
