he?
As an outside linebacker with the Dallas Cowboys, Wheeling native Chuck Howley became the first and only member of a
losing team to win Super Bowl MVP honors. In Super Bowl V, Howley intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble in the
Cowboys' 16-13 loss to the Baltimore Colts. Excelling as a guard and center (not linebacker) at WVU, Howley also
earned varsity letters in track, wrestling, diving, and gymnastics. He was the fourth player inducted into the Ring of Honor
at Texas Stadium, and he is also a member of the West Virginia Athletics Hall of Fame.
